Hi, I’m Ayu.

I am holistic career coach (ICF-trained) and yoga teacher (RYT 200). I help international women who live and work abroad find career fulfilment and inner peace.

I’ve lived abroad for 20+ years (US + France). I also hold an MBA from ESSEC Business School and I’m a certified life coach (Institute of Life Coaching).

My Story

I learned early to chase approval. When I was 4 years old, I was separated from my mother for 11 years. Like any child, all I wanted was to be loved. That experience pushed me to try to earn love through “success”: good grades, good schools, the right path. I kept hoping that one day I would finally feel accepted.

That drive took me across countries and into a career that looked great on paper. From the outside, I had everything: Paris, a stable job, a loving husband, a beautiful daughter. I was trying to prove myself, maybe to society, maybe to my parents. I believed that if I checked all the boxes, I would eventually feel whole.

But over time, I realized my job was not fulfilling. The office was full of negativity and complaints, everything felt superficial, and I didn’t feel seen or valued. Getting up in the morning was hard. I kept wondering, “Am I just being ungrateful?”

I felt lost. I didn’t know what else I could do, and I was scared to leave. As an immigrant, I knew how hard it could be to find a good job here, so I stayed even when it didn’t feel right.

Motherhood became my turning point. It brought up old fears and self-doubt. It also made me ask deeper questions: Who am I? What do I want? What do I want my daughter to learn from me? I realized I didn’t want a life shaped by other people’s expectations. I wanted something true to me, something meaningful, and something peaceful.

So I did the work: therapy, coaching, and yoga. Over time, everything shifted. I started sleeping well and stopped waking up in the middle of the night with stress. I stopped comparing myself to others and built my own definition of success. I learned boundaries, and I gained tools to calm myself when I felt anxious or triggered. Little by little, I got clear on the career I actually wanted. I began building a path that aligns with who I am and the kind of mother I want to be. That’s when I decided to go further. I trained as a life coach and yoga teacher, and I interviewed dozens of international women so I could turn what I’d learned into a structured approach I could share.

Today, I support international women who want career fulfillment and inner peace. I created The Women Abroad Reset after hearing the same truth from so many international women. It’s rarely “just” career. It’s also identity, belonging, self-doubt, and a nervous system that has been holding it all together for too long. That’s why we work with both mind and body, so the change you create actually lasts.

My Approach

My approach integrates Western coaching methodologies with Eastern wisdom, so we work in sync with your mind’s intelligence and your body’s wisdom.

In practice, that looks like:

Structured coaching to clarify what you want, understand what’s been keeping you stuck, and build a realistic plan.

Mind-body tools (yoga movement/asana, breathwork, nervous system regulation, and simple philosophy where helpful) to restore calm and self-confidence.

Support that honors the real context of living abroad: identity shifts, belonging, language and cultural codes, and the pressure to “make it work.”

Trilingual guidance when helpful: English by default, with support in French and Indonesian.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a learning and developmental process. It’s future-oriented and helps you build awareness, clarity, and self-trust so you can make changes that move you toward the outcomes you want.

In our sessions, we’ll check in on what’s happening now, set a clear focus, explore what’s getting in the way, and leave with practical next steps you can apply in real life.

Coaching is not psychotherapy. We won’t “dig” into the past or treat mental health issues. If therapy is part of your support, coaching can complement it.

  • "Ayu is an incredibly determined and inspiring woman. Watching her reinvent herself while balancing motherhood, a new career, and life abroad makes me believe anything is possible. She listens deeply, never judges, and always supports with honesty and kindness. I’m grateful to have her in my life, and I know she creates a supportive, authentic space wherever she goes."

    — Yuli, friend

  • “There was a rare sense of safety and openness, where vulnerability felt natural. Ayu invited us to let go of what no longer fits and reconnect with who we are beneath the noise. When it was over, I left feeling lighter, clearer, and more anchored in myself. I'm truly grateful to have been part of this.”

  • “A wonderful event filled with kindness and gentleness, with little touches that make all the difference. A precious moment of sharing, connection, and coming back to myself. An experience not to be missed!”
